I'm Getting Married!

Monday, 11 July 2016 / Leave a Comment

I never thought I'd be saying the words, I'm getting married!
Mr DMM and me have been together for almost 13 years.
We met at the rather glamorous McDonald's where I was working as a 20 year old and he was the 22 year old boy racer type who used to come racing through the Drive Thru with his roaring exhaust and thumping bass smiling his cheeky smile.

Siblings | June 2016

It is my favorite time of the month in the blogging world, Siblings time! I love looking at everybody's gorgeous pictures and seeing how well ( or not ) everybody elses children are with each other.
I do not take photos specifically for this linky, I like to go through my camera roll for the month and find snaps of my kids all together which I admit is hard some months as they like to play apart more and more and most of my photos are pants :)

How I Halved My Weekly Grocery Bill

Tuesday, 14 June 2016 / Leave a Comment

I have never been much of a budgeter or a saver.
I live on a budget though if that makes any sense at all or contradicts my first sentence!
I live very close to the breadline and don't have any disposable income each month but this is how life has always been since having children and its what is normal to me.
One area I have always overspent in is...Groceries.

Siblings | May 2016

May has been a horrid month for us with all the kids one by one struck down with chicken pox.
Chicken Pox Selfie
Before the chickenpox spread all over their faces
We spent every weekend housebound as they was all contagious at some point so cabin fever definitly struck!
Once they was all better and returned to school it was soon half term.
Needless to say we all very much looked forward to our camping holiday we have just returned from.
May was also the month Little T settled into nursery, using his 2 year old Early Years Funding. (You can read my post 'Early Years Education Funding')

Picture I got sent from Ts nursery who uses the Babys Days app to keep you informed of their day.

Camping With Kids

Wednesday, 25 May 2016 / Leave a Comment

If you had said to me many years ago, pre having kids, that I would find camping enjoyable I would have scoffed in your face.
Whats enjoyable about sleeping on the cold hard floor in a paper thin sleeping bag within a cramped tent with the sides flapping, terrified the whole tent may fall down any minute?
And waking up in the morning all damp with frizzy hair!!
My young adult self would have screamed "absolutely no way!"
Well, tents and camping equipment have come along way since then as well as the phenomenon 'Glamping'.

Ok this post is a rant.

It probably will not make sense or contain actual 'facts' and exact mathematics but it's what's on my mind and I want to know who else feels the same?

Slapped Cheek vs Scarlet Fever

Slapped Cheek VS Scarlet Fever

'Muuuuum I'm hot'
is something I'm always hearing my 6 year old daughter complain about. I don't know where she gets her warm bloodiness from, maybe the South African genes from her nan? who knows!
Anyhow's, this particular day before the Easter Holidays, I sent her off to school as normal as she was looking alright and bouncing off the walls hyper as anything so I really did not suspect anything other then maybe a cold sneaking up on her.

Siblings | April 2016

I decided to remove the photo as I have realised, due to unusual likes on Instagram where I have also removed the image, that a picture of kids in the bath although innocent is not what I want the 'wrong sort' of people to have in their possession! Also for their 'digital footprint' it is quite embarrassing.

I'm a bit late joining in this month!
You may of noticed I've not posted in a while, life has been pretty hectic to say the least.

This months Siblings post theme is bath time.
I can finally say the arguments between the three of them are settling...did I say that?!
They do still fight a lot but they seem to be able to resolve their issues without the need for me to get involved, which is good!

In this scene Little T was in the bath playing with one of his brothers Lego boats, enjoying splashing about.
Big T came in and asked if he could jump in to which Little T said 'yes T bath with me!' So he grabbed his big Lego boat and in he hopped.
All the squeals of laughter soon attracted the sister who came in and said 'can I come in?' Big T shouted no but Little T said 'YES!' To which Big T then changed his mind telling her to grab her Barbie boat and they could play a game together.
They played together fantastically for a good 30 mins till I got bored (is that a bad thing?! The sofa was calling me)and asked them to put their boats on the side and hop out.
I really enjoyed sharing a moment with them when we weren't all shouting at each other!

Mummy & Me March 2016 | #7

Tuesday, 29 March 2016 / Leave a Comment
Whilst reading my favorite blogs I was on Life Through My Eyes and saw this post marking the one year anniversary of Mummy & Me.
I then realised it was a year ago I posted my first Mummy & Me post and that it was in fact my most popular post, thanks to linking to Nicola! Even worst is the realisation that I had let the momentum slip and my last post was in October 2015! *eek*

This sent me frantically searching my phone camera roll to find a picture of me with the kids!
I struggled to find one so then set about trying to capture a picture.

Early Years Education Funding | My Dilemma

Early Years Funding - Blog Title

Sometime ago I received a letter in the post stating that Little T qualified for funding for Free Early Years Education.
He had just turned 2 years old.
How could this time have arrived already?
I knew about the funding for 3 and 4 year old's as both my elder children had attended pre-school and although I had to pay when they first started at 2 1/2 years old, from the term after their 3rd birthday they received 15 hours funding.
I thought that the 2 year funding was just for family's deemed to be 'in poverty' or in receipt of certain social security benefits.
Turns out I was wrong!

It got me thinking about my own children and how often I hear 'please play mum'.

The Day I found Head Lice In My Kids Hair

Head lice

As a new parent you know to expect months of no sleep, endless feeding and exploding nappies. You try to embrace the terrible two's with a positive outlook (which soon turns to despair) but you are not forewarned that one day your little angel will come home from school/daycare with little critters hiding in their hair.
Hello Head lice

#SmearForSmear 24th-30th January 2016 Cervical Cancer Prevention Week

Friday, 22 January 2016 / Leave a Comment

24th to 30th January is National Cervical Cancer Prevention Week.
Too many of us women do not attend our smear tests when invited to do so. They are not the best thing in the world (what examination is especially involving your vajayjay!) but as Cervical Cancer CAN be prevented (one of only a few cancers that can) then you'd be a fool not to.

Well I survived the first morning back to school after the Winter holidays!
No more lay ins.
Back to early mornings and shouting at the kids to get out of bed and get breakfast.
Although I hate routine I am quite happy to be back in the school days routine of getting up with a purpose.
