Save £650 in a year

I have seen many 52 week saving challenges popping up on my social channels lately.
The idea sounds good...but saving notes week to week is a huge challenge for me being on a low household income. I would love to be able to save...at least something...
Skint Dad to the rescue!
As a new reader to Ricky Willis aka Skint Dad's (+Ricky Willis) money saving blog,
(If you've not read it and your want to learn how to save money and be frugal then go there when your done here!)
I was excited to see his 1p saving challenge. (Otherwise called the 365 day saving challenge)
This is right up my street and something I feel fully able to commit to.

Sample picture
The idea is simple you, start on day 1 with 1p.
(I know we are a few days in to the year but a few pence is easy to find in trouser pockets, handbags and down the back of the sofa!)
Then the next day you save 2p, the day after 3p etc etc
This over the course of a year, 365 days, gives you £667.95.
2016 being a leap year you can save £671.61!!
Just think, next January 2017 when your feeling skint after Christmas 2016 you'll have £671 in a savings tin that you can hit the sales with...or continue to save :)

Over on Skint Dads blog (www.skintdad.co.uk) you can get the printables to download the 1p saving challenge along with different methods for saving in reverse (The reverse way you save the more costly weeks earlier in the year and the cheaper weeks towards Christmas) or saving different amounts.

Are you going to be taking part?

How much are you planning to save in 2016?

Leave me a comment and let me know!
